WASHINGTON – California’s top environmental regulator, Liane Randolph, will retire on September 30 after spearheading the state’s ambitious push to ban sales of gasoline-only cars by 2035.

Governor Gavin Newsom announced that Lauren Sanchez, his senior adviser on climate policy, will take over as chair of the California Air Resources Board.
